The terms for Steady Phone.

These terms cover the Steady Phone app for iPhone.

These terms are between you and Purity Goat LLC for the Steady Phone iPhone app. Apple’s standard licensed-application end user license also applies: Apple’s standard EULA.

The app

Steady Phone is a self-control app for the person who owns the iPhone. It is not a parental-control app, and it is not medical care. It does not diagnose, treat, or measure a health condition.

You choose which apps stay available. Other apps can open onto a shield until a timer or a scheduled window ends, or until you turn Steady Phone off. Phone and Settings stay available because iOS does not shield them. Leaving early keeps shields up for a short wait, then drops them.

Steady Phone cannot hide your other Home Screen pages, set the wallpaper, or edit the dock for you. Setup can save one wallpaper into Photos for you to set yourself.

Subscriptions

Shields, the schedule, and the timer require an auto-renewable subscription through the App Store:

  • Yearly is $24 after a 7-day free trial.
  • Monthly is $4, with no trial.

The App Store shows the price in your currency at the time you subscribe. Payment is charged to your Apple ID. A subscription renews until you cancel. Cancel in Settings at least 24 hours before the trial or the current period ends. Deleting the app does not cancel the subscription.

There is no account to create inside Steady Phone. Restoring purchases uses your Apple ID.

Your phone

You can revoke Screen Time access at any time in Settings. You can turn Steady Phone off in the app, which clears the shields immediately. The app does not set a Screen Time passcode, does not block deletion, and does not lock accounts.

Acceptable use

Use Steady Phone on an iPhone you are allowed to control. Do not use it to lock someone else out of their phone.

The service can change

The app is provided as it is. Shields depend on Apple’s Screen Time APIs. A future version of iOS can change what those APIs allow. Steady Phone does not promise a particular amount of time away from other apps.

To the extent the law allows, Purity Goat LLC is not liable for indirect or consequential damages, or for time you spend in other apps. Some places do not allow that limit. In those places, the limit applies only as far as the law allows.
